Bio
I have owned and managed KROHA Direct Mail / KROHA Creative (under various brand iterations) since 1984. Over the years, staying in sync with technology and media trends has required my staying extremely adaptive and agile.
But while the “hows” of communicating to prospects and customers are ever-changing, the building-block fundamentals — the “whats” that comprise sound direct marketing communications — really have not. Now more than ever, the “power of direct marketing principals” can and should be integrated into any media where defined, measurable response is an objective. It is my ability to harness these principals that guides (and sets-apart) the marketing and branding solutions I produce.
I have been invited to share direct marketing insights at numerous seminars and industry events. Even won a few industry “performance’ awards along the way. But earning “pat-on-the-back” awards has never been my goal.
The only award I pursue is client satisfaction. The kind that comes from boosting performance to beat benchmark “control” campaigns, on or below budget.
CAREER TIMELINE
1980: Xerox Education Publications/Field Publications
A degree from the Boston University School of Fine Arts led to my being hired as a direct mail designer at Xerox Education Publications/Field Publications in Middletown, Connecticut.
1984: Katz & Kroha Advertising
Co-launched Katz & Kroha, a full-service Direct Marketing agency. Clients included IDG Communications, Personal Computing, The American Red Cross, Prentice Hall, Business & Legal Reports, GMH Marketing, United Cable Television, Xerox Educational Publications, Garlinghouse, QNP, and more.
1987: Kroha Associates, Inc.
Launched Kroha Associates— an advertising/marketing firm offering direct response plus branding and product development. Key Clients included Atlas Editions, Field Publications, Disney, The American Heart Association, CT Chapter, RR Donnelley, Trout Unlimited, Cox Communications, Oxford Health Care.
1998: Caring Grandparents of America
While operating Kroha Associates, I partnered with former a Disney V.P. to form an affinity marketing company called Caring Grandparents of America. Purchased by Dial America, Inc. after one year in business.
2002: Kroha Direct Inc.
Rebranded Kroha Associates to Kroha Direct to reflect renewed focus on direct response marketing. Key Clients included CIGNA Health Care, Cox Communications, Petruzelo Insurance, Truebro, Syn-Mar Products, Oxford HealthCare, Optimum TV, NUMA Publishing.
2005: Arrowhead Direct
Rebranded Kroha Direct as Arrowhead Direct, an independent creative services division of The Arrowhead Group. (A three-company partnership comprised of a commercial printer, a lettershop, and Kroha Direct.)
2007: iiCREATiVE, Inc.
Dissolved Arrowhead Group, partnered with a local IT company, and formed iiCREATiVE, Inc. Key Clients included CIBA; Dymotek, Westerbeke Generators, NETAAC (New England Trade Adjustment Assistance Center); St. Francis HealthCare Partners; MTA Benefits; Tunxis Plantation.
2015: Kroha Direct
Ended iiCREATiVE partnership and returned to Kroha Direct brand, operating as a virtual multi-media marketing & branding agency. Key Clients included Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry, Bobbex Inc., The Danbury Mint, Summit Plating, New Britain EMS Academy, Chiromark, CED Services, Coastal Hair Transplant, MARN Inc., Palladin Precision Product, Catalyst Health Fitness, Independent Plating, Worcester Manufacturing.
2021: KROHA Creative/Kroha Direct Mail
Launched KROHA Creative LLC with a concentration on providing senior level consulting, strategies, creative execution and production management. Also launched the KROHA Direct Mail website as a way to showcase the considerable direct marketing advantages that my nexperience in this sector provides.
